Current To-do list:

- Remove Sorbo
- Space spring from the piston side (3 coils from stock spring)
- Swiss Cheese Aluminum Piston
- Replace piston O-ring with generic #14 O-ring
- Put in the new sears
- Find a suitable tightbore- ER-hop with stock hop chamber and bucking
- Aftermarket hard bucking
- Polish cylinder
- Polish piston (head and spring end) Was already Polished
- Enclose portion of the air intake slit (porting) to extend cylinder air capacity.
- Finish foaming receiver and outer barrel
- Shim hop-up
- Add more barrel spacers
- Mock Suppressor (Home made, PVC), paint
- Flute Mock Suppressor - not as effective as fluting a narrower barrel. Also looks ugly.
- Scope sun shade (home made, pvc), paint
- Add more burlap to gun wrap
- Mount laser pointer for tacticoolness, nothing like seeing a red dot on your buddy's chest.
- Turn bipod backwards Gets in way of magwell
- Make pressure pad slot for laser pointer
- Make magazine pouch on the stock for quick reloading, make custom wrist pocket
- experiment with "scope cam" methods with Contour Roam2.
- Get a better sling
- Sight scope for 250'
- Install SP170/190 spring.
- R-hop
- Top Down Center screw adjustment mod

<< Edit >>

First, THE PLAN

I am seriously considering this, after some research this is what I came up with. My goals here are to get it shooting 550fps without falling apart, under $300.

The gun - $105, shipping is either free or will pay for itself from a % off coupon. I went with airsplat on this one. 3-9x40 scope and bipod included, great, because I'm not taking the scope or bipod off my SR-12.

Barrel $60. I only saw them in stock at ASGI and Redwolf. I'm not paying redwolf shipping for this.
www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=4947

The Sears - $10 for both shipped. ShS steel sears. This I what made me choose the VSR-10 rather than an L96 for my platform. If I find that these fit a well L96 MB series, I will switch lol, I like the bolt on an L96 more, and a more beefy outer barrel.

clandestineairsoft.com/sniper-parts-c-1_...iston-sear-p-70.html

Magazines $7 x3. I'll carry a speed loader on the field, don't think I'll need more than that. Put a holster and 2 pistol mag pouches directly on the belt and have a lightweight sniper set-up.
www.airsplat.com/Items/AR-WELL-MB2-MAG.htm

Ok so the above is pretty much set, now for the bolt assembly choices.

WELLCylinder upgrade kit $28. One of the choices for the more durable parts I'll need. I'm assuming that the spring is an M-170, as they claim near 600fps, it may even be something stiffer lol, but I call bullshit on that 600fps, an M-170 with good air seal would still be around 550. In any case the piston and spring guide makes it worth it in a way, if I have to get a new spring so be it. What do you guys think of this? The piston looks solid, as does the spring guide and it has ball bearings.
www.airsplat.com/Items/AC-UPI-MB02-KIT.htm

SPRING $12 the Laylax 170s are out so I'll grab an ASGI re-brand.

spring guide, meeeeh $18 for a little rod.
www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath...amp;products_id=5712

Laylax 170 spring? $22. Claims 560fps, sounds about right.
www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath...amp;products_id=3459

Now for some entertainment

The $200 PDI set. For $200 they don't even include a spring lol.
www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath...amp;products_id=6663

I'm kind of excited about that upgrade kit, and I know I'll probably need a new spring for it lol but still, it's a great price to replace the garbage plastic piston/spring guide in the stock gun.

Even found a nice video for installing it lol, so simple.

There you go, bolt snipers don't have to cost $700 lol. After seeing some builds, maaaan laylax and PDI are just super expensive, sure they're the best of the best but when the best costs 3 times as much as the second best forget it lol.

awww ASGI is out of stock on the barrels, airsplat is out on the upgrade kit lol but ASGI has them for $30. Guess I'll do that for $9 shipping minus $6 from 20% off. I can put off on the barrel for now I guess.

Well I had to make it out of 3 orders from different vendors but....

Grand total $188

Gun
M-170 spring
Piston, spring guide, some spring I'm not gonna use
Steel piston/trigger sears
3 spare magazines

And I have more than enough stuff left over from my ghillie and paintjobs to make it blend in well.

Future plans for this gun:

- Install the parts I ordered, remove nozzle restrictor.

- Paint job and gun wrap

- Aftermarket hop up bucking, implement barrel lock down

- Laylax 6.03 430mm barrel when ASGI gets them in stock. Lol Evike wants $90, and none in stock

- R-hop and M-nub mods, Teflon compression mods. Pending custom-cut ER-hop on the SR-12, if it goes well I'll do it on here too, just don't wanna try it on the $70 barrel first lol.

- Probably get a respectable scope for this gun too, lower priority though.

After working with AEGs and starting to work on the M9 GBB, bolt action should be cake.

Come out on the 13th Eric, I should have it by then and have had the chance to install my upgrades and cammo it.

I just bought some washers of different sizes to see what works best for spacers, I do believe the VSR10 spring guide is 7mm in diameter.

By the way, if you line the bottom front part of your magazine well with a few layers of electric tape it should help keep the mags in better.

I'm gonna paint something like this on the stock lol

LOL nice picture

The mags don't normally fall out I think it's just misaligned a tad. It just started happening after my last takedown. I really need a nicer hopup
